Days 2-3 Greater Kruger National Park
Early morning wake up call. Warm refreshments and light snacks are served around the camp fire where the guide will also brief us on trail conduct before commencing with the walking safari. All safaris are led by an experienced armed guide and assisted by a tracker who has an intimate knowledge of the bush and the surroundings. A walking trail normally lasts anything up to 3 hours but depending on what is encountered on the Trail, perhaps the fresh spoor of a Rhino or Lion will get everyone so exited that it could last much longer than planned.
This activity relies heavily on the guests willingness and ability to follow animals at a pace which sometimes could become rather hectic. Nothing can prepare one for that rush of adrenaline when after a few hours of tracking an Elephant one is suddenly faced with an eyeball to eyeball confrontation with this giant of the African bush. Extreme care is always exercised by the Guide when tracking any form of wildlife and under no circumstances is a guest's safety willingly compromised.
Return to camp mid morning for an invigorating hot shower or bath and then onto a scrumptious brunch served under the Lapa.
Mid Day is normally a resting period when we can take a nap or just laze around in our rooms or under the Lapa where a bottomless cup of tea or coffee is always available.
In the afternoon, we are off on anther guided game walk (approx. 2-3 hours) followed by sundowners. Embarking on our evening guided game drive, we again employ spotlights to search for movements of predators hunting through the dark hours. Tonight, enjoy another delicious dinner in the great African outdoors.
Due to the late breakfast no formal lunch is served . However, shortly before departing on the afternoon walk / evening game drive light refreshments will be served. The afternoon walk / evening game drive lasts for approximately 4 hours and returning to camp at approximately 20h00 for dinner.
